An independent tool inspired by Erin Meyer's The Culture Map. Drag a dot along any scale to place a country from 0 to 100. Starting positions are sourced estimates built from several published studies. Hover a dot to see its range.
Each dot is a country. Drag it along a scale to place it from 0 to 100, or type a country name in the legend to fill all seven scales from published data. Use the grip beside a scale name to reorder, and click the text at either end to rename it. Your work saves in this browser only.
Erin Meyer's country scores are not public, so this tool does not contain her data. It is not made or endorsed by her. Starting positions are estimates from published studies, and two of the seven scales are low confidence. See the sources page for every study and its limits.
Please note: this tool is for education and conversation. It offers generalizations about national cultures, not about any individual. Treat every position as a starting point for discussion and check figures before using them in print or teaching.

Do you know a culture well from living or working in it? Your own placements help check and improve the starting positions. The five-minute survey works on a phone, and a one-page worksheet is available for printing and sharing with a group.
If you know of published data that would improve a starting position, please send it. Corrections are most useful with a source we can check, such as a study, a dataset or a citation. Each one is read and weighed by hand, and accepted changes appear in a later version of the tool. This form only prepares an email. Nothing is sent from your browser until you press send in your own email app.
